Resurfacing works in Burnside Terrace Anstruther will mean that the road is too narrow for buses and both the 95 and X61 will avoid the area.
This is what Fife Council say on notices on the affected Bus Stops:
The above notice does not mention Toll Road - but we don’t think buses will be stopping there either.
This is what Stagecoach say on their Service Update:
And while this update might imply that the X61 does travel up Crail Road to serve the Toll Road stops, there seems to be some confusion between the Council and Stagecoach and we would not recommend relying on this…
We recommend that you aim to board the X61 at the stops near Anstruther Co-Op.
The 95 can be boarded at the stops near Skeith Health Centre or stops near Waid Academy (for those services that visit Waid) or stops in Wester Anstruther.
If you cannot walk to or from these stops, you can book the Go-Flexi bus to take you to and from a stop that is served by the diverted buses. You should aim to book the Go-Flexi at least an hour ahead of when you want to travel. (And you can book up to a week ahead as well, which you might want to do for an important appointment?)
It’s worth mentioning that the Go-Flexi is available to anyone and between the times when it is helping to deal with problems created by roadworks it can run you to and from places that are not served by normal bus routes:
(And they can put on extra Go-Flexi buses if needed, we have seen two Go-Flexi buses in Anstruther at the same time…)
