95 timetable changes Monday 29th July

No official timetables have been released by Stagecoach yet - it’s probably only a few days away.
But there is some information already on https://bustimes.org
The main alteration is the addition of extra 95 services on Monday to Saturday mornings which depart Toll Road Cellardyke at 04:35, 05:15, 06:15 and 07:05 timed to reach Leven to connect with train departures for Edinburgh.
Of course, we at 95 Crail Bus would like to have seen at least one of these services starting its journey in Crail or even earlier on the route…
These services are “test” services aimed at seeing how much demand there is - so if we want to see the buses continue we need to use them. Otherwise we will find over time that the services which do not have passenger support are gradually withdrawn.
So, if you can get to Cellardyke then where else can you go with buses at this time?
There are changes to the X58, X60 and X61 services from the same date (Monday 29th July), so here’s a taster of how these services work from Leven:
There’s an 05:40 X58 getting to Edinburgh at 07:40 (which compares with the train at 05:39 getting to Edinburgh at 06:46).
An 06:15 X60A gets to Edinburgh at 08:10 (train is 06:17 arriving Edinburgh 07:25).
An 07:25 X60A gets to Edinburgh at 09:15 (train is 07:15 arriving 08:24).
An 07:55 X58 gets to Edinburgh at 09:45 (no matching train).
An 08:25 X60A gets to Edinburgh at 10:15 (the 08:11 train gets to Edinburgh at 09:19).
But there are buses to other places too…
For example, number 46 at 06:10 or 07:10 goes to Kirkcaldy via Victoria Hospital - getting you to Kirkcaldy for 06:52 or 07:52.
Or an X27 at 07:10 gets to Glasgow for 10:00.

Remember to “untick train” if you want to search for a “bus only” route to use your bus pass, or to get cheaper tickets…
There is one other weekday 95 change to mention - the 17:35 departure from St Andrews will leave 5 minutes earlier at 17:30 to help with train connections in Leven:
And there’s a lot of changes to the Sunday evening 95 service - and changes to the X59 from St Andrews - but we will talk more about them when Stagecoach publish the full timetables…
