As usual Anstruther will be holding a public firework display at the Harbour on November 5th.
The 95 and X60 buses will divert to avoid the Harbour at least between 6pm and 9pm.
Here is the official announcement from Stagecoach:
The statement “bus stop on this diversion will be served” is technically correct in referring to a singular bus stop:
The stop outside the old Police Station on Crail Road will be served by the 95 heading towards Leven - it’s a long way from the Harbour - but it will be a useful place to get off for anyone going to Cellardyke who didn’t expect the bus to divert…
The X60 and X61 are likely to miss out Cellardyke and Shore Street completely and only serve the stops near Waid Academy or the Co-Op (https://bustimes.org/stops/6500N0340) or the “Craw’s Nest Hotel” stops (https://bustimes.org/stops/6500N0343) in Anster Wester.
Beware that it is generally very busy for the fireworks and diversions may need to start early and/or continue beyond the originally planned time - there is equally a risk that not every bus will follow the diversion, so if you need to catch a bus in Anstruther on Tuesday evening it’s best to go to a stop well away from the diversion - at the Skeith Centre or in Anstruther Wester for the 95 - on St Andrews Road or in Anstruther Wester for the X60/X61…
