New timetables reaction...

...Petition against stop changes, and thoughts about timetable changes...

As I write this the official 95 timetable is not yet published by Stagecoach.

In the meantime Councillor Sean Dillon is raising a petition against the reduction in stops served by the X60: https://www.change.org/SaveOurStops

The changes to the published express timetables are interesting…

There is a new Sunday express service between St Andrews and Edinburgh via Anstruther and the East Neuk - it will be numbered X61 because it goes via Halbeath Park & Ride rather than Dalgety Bay:

The weekday X59 from St Andrews is being retimed to typically depart at 10 minutes past the hour:

Which restores the connection between the X59 and X27 at Halbeath, giving two connections an hour between St Andrews and Glasgow:

But this doesn’t help with travel from Crail - as it makes any connection between the 95 and X59 less likely…

But, the new X22 between Dunfermline and Stirling does make for a good connection from the 95 then X24 to X22:

For example, a 95 at 08:49 from Pinkerton Road gets to St Andrews at 09:21 for an X24 at 09:40 getting to Dunfermline at 11:14, for the X22 at 11:30 getting to Stirling at 12:24 - which may be part of an interesting day trip?

Hopefully the official version of the new 95 timetable will be published soon, so that we can confirm all this…
